Qpax and I are on good terms with each other, but I know he can be busy. I don't think I'm hurting his feelings by requesting an approval from here (at least I hope not), which is why I didn't bug him in a dmail. I'm not happy that my uploads were straight up deleted, but I understand what happened in the confusion from earlier. I was hoping for an approval from anybody- which was why I posted in the official appeal thread.

Both of these are now superior to their respective children.
I don't understand why this one was removed. I uploaded it months ago and it was approved, but it suddenly got sent to the moderation queue less than a week ago and rejected 1 day ago. I can see that it was rejected by a full 14 moderators, 2 said they think it broke the rules, and one person gave a reason, that it was apparently an "upscale."
But I really can't see anything wrong with it. It's not just an upscale- it has no resolution loss. The only difference is that it's slightly darker. I can't remember exactly where I found it, but I'm quite certain it was from the artist themselves, either on their pixiv, twitter or elsewhere.
This is the second time I've had an upload rejected by a large number of moderators that had little to no identifiable issues, and given no real reason why. I had an issue like this in the past with post #2725036, but this was apparently due to the fact it was a twitter upload and had a slight quality loss. If this one was from twitter though, it has no quality loss.
This one really baffles me though. It would be really great if moderators would give some kind of explanation other than some snark like "waifu2x upscale", especially when it gets suddenly pulled down after months.

I haven’t looked at the actual images because I have some of the tags blacklisted and looking at it doesn’t seem necessary.
I see that the parent has a Pixiv source and the child does not. Instead, the child has twice the size (or four times, however you want to count) and is marked as upscaled and waifu2x.

Your upload is a third-party upscale, either by you or someone else who’s not the original artist. Third-party edits aren’t particularly well-liked. The waifu2x wiki also clearly states that uploading waifu2x upscales is not recommended.
It is an upscale (not just “apparently”) and the reason why it was rejected for being a waifu2x upscale is right there on the wiki for you to read, so I don’t see your problem. The flag reason states that it being a waifu2x upscale was the problem. Why do you consider that “snark”?

I don’t understand what you mean with that. It’s the nature of an upscale that it has a higher resolution than the original.
