I don't understand why these weren't approved.

Because they’re bad. The artist is pretty mediocre in general and some of the posts are just barely above the threshold. The four you appealed are just bad.

Also, they were only reviewed by one mod.

No, that only means that only one mod clicked the “No interest” button. The others either didn’t bother to click the button or didn’t even view the posts because the thumbnails looked bad already.
Also, I think those images were posted during the time when the review counter was broken and always claimed that only one mod had reviewed a post when in reality several did.

I hate to say this, but it's counter-intuitive that you appeal many of these posts when they are really not that great in any way, even when given a special glance. At some point nobody will give any of your appeals the time of day because they already have preconceived notions that they're just not worth approving, period.

Quoting kittey almost verbatim on this one but you have to be more selective with your appeals. We janitors look through a lot of pretty 'meh' uploads everyday. Anything posted here should be arguably of decent quality, not things that look amateurish or fairly disturbing to the eye.

First off, I'd like to appeal post #2674144, given that's part of a comic series (pool #12168) and the "poor quality" that was cited as the reason for deletion is actually intentional because the images depicted are drawings made by a child with evidently little talent.

Second off, I would to appeal the following posts (WARNING: they're pornographic):

Reasoning:

  • Unlike the previous case, in which multiple moderators have reviewed the post and passed their judgement, all of these posts were (according to the deletioned notice above them, at least) reviewed by only one moderator, and no reason was offered for the deletion.
  • Someone else independently reuploaded post #2651253 as post #2662431 a month ago, and it got approved with apparently no hassle (the Flags & Appeals history is completely blank).
  • I had originally uploaded those images to complete the storyline of the series they were part of, since there were already four pages of it uploaded (post #2640038, post #2640036, post #2640028, and post #2640032).
  • All of them have positive scores; admittedly, the scores quickly went into the negative within the first 24 hours of being uploaded, but I saw that changing just as fast over the few days after that.

The appeal won't take so I'm writing it here:

Left leg past knee is hidden behind thigh.
Right leg is NOT shorter than the left leg.
Arms are the same length if you count the right arm flush against the body while the left arm is bent in behind the back (see how the shading is used there)

Rest of the lining and colouring for the character is fine. Work on the scenery and background is great, especially the water and interaction with the knees and lower.

Only issue I see is the chin that can probably stab someone, but it looks like it's a style thing.

I noticed the return of another wave of nitpicky flags regarding anatomy. The flags don't convince me that the anatomy seriously impacts the overall quality of the image, unless the most uncharitable perspective is applied. 5~8% wrong does not compromise the remaining 90% which is good or better. In the few posts I brought up, if you consider a more lenient perspective where the anatomy is possible than it is acceptable, and the rest of the image needs to be considered outside the minor flaws (if any).

Are we going to deal with these incredibly high standards again?
