create implication bunny_focus -> bunny
A bunny focus requires a bunny.

BUR #2705 has been approved by @NWF_Renim.
mass update bird_focus -> animal_focus bird
mass update cat_focus -> animal_focus cat
mass update dog_focus -> animal_focus dog
mass update bunny_focus -> animal_focus bunny
mass update fish_focus -> animal_focus fish
remove implication bird_focus -> bird
remove implication cat_focus -> cat
Leaving the individual tags unaliased to avoid losing information when people use them wrong.

create implication bird_focus -> animal_focus
create implication cat_focus -> animal_focus
create implication dog_focus -> animal_focus
create implication bunny_focus -> animal_focus
create implication fish_focus -> animal_focus

create implication fish_focus -> fish
I think I would prefer to imply them this way.
The tags bird_focus and cat_focus already imply bird and cat, respectively.

The issue is that we'll eventually end up having tons of these. What's stopping someone from creating insect focus for post #3194845 or frog_focus for post #3199693?
Take for example animal_focus cat. That search is equivalent to cat_focus. There's no reason imo to have such a redundant tag.
Let's just better not to nuke every individual tags like those happening in topic #16760. Danbooru might run bland in terms of tag variety if every single one of them is nuked. +1 to Danielx21's request.
I'm in support of nonamethanks bulk update on mass updating the various <animal>_focus -> animal_focus <animal> suggestion. Unless there is a lot of noise in the results when performing a combo search of animal_focus with the specific animal, I see no reason to retain the specific <animal>_focus tags.

There's no point having a tag that's literally just two other tags in one. Just like in topic #16760, if a single tag search and a double tag search both return the exact same results, then most likely that single tag is redundant. This is not an issue of tag variety, this is an issue of multiple tags serving the exact same purpose.

This reminds me a bit of how tags black_socks and black_thighhighs like are aliased to black_legwear (and dozens of similar examples with legwear, shoes, etc.). So if someone tries to add the tag black_thighhighs, they are losing the thighhighs part unless they add it separately.
Those aliases were created to force people to stop using them, as the volume of new posts with those tags is much higher than posts about animals, but I do think those aliases are not the optimal solution either. Unfortunately right now it's not possible to alias a single tag to two or more.

I wonder if there are any plans to make this possible in the future? This sounds like it would be useful with the tags like black_thighhighs, black_socks, and so on at least.
Honestly no idea if it's planned or even feasible. But for your above example, there's now tons of missing tags due to those aliases. Just look at black_legwear -thighhighs -socks -kneehighs -pantyhose -leggings.

Where a specific animal-focus tag can be replicated through an animal_focus +<specific animal> search with minimal noise in the results, then those tags should be replaced with the two-tag search. If there are cases where there is significant noise in the results of a two-tag search, then in those cases we should have the specific animal-focus tag.
