Aramaki Shinji (荒牧 伸志) (born October 2, 1960) is a Japanese anime director and mechanical designer, born in Fukuoka Prefecture. He was a member of Artmic.
He is noted for work on powered exoskeletons and his mecha and CG design on several anime series.
Aramaki created mecha designs for many 80s and 90s anime series such as Kikou Souseiki Mospeada (the Mospeada, the Legioss), Megazone 23 (the Garland), Bubblegum Crisis and Gasaraki. More recently he designed mecha for Wolf's Rain, Raideen, Viper's Creed and Halo Legends.
Many of his mecha designs are related or influenced by real life motorcycle designs, since he is an user and fan of that type of vehicles.
Aramaki has also directed several anime productions, including Megazone 23, Gasaraki, Appleseed and Halo Legends.
